You can make money on the side by flipping purchases on eBay! Start by finding fresh, unique, or rare items in your local area that are cheap. Then post them on eBay and wait.
I’ve made quite a bit of money doing this myself.
But if you’re not one for flipping, try selling some of your old things. For sure your 20-year-old VHS cassettes are valuable to someone…
4. Start an Etsy Store

Dog is man’s best friend. Cats, hmmm, not so much. But they both need love and care, and that’s where you come in, my friend.

One of my favorite brilliant ideas to make money is Affiliate marketing. It can be a quick way to make some money if you’ve got a social media presence. Sign up with an affiliate marketing program such as Amazon Associates, promote your favorite products, and get paid!
8. Use Empower to Earn More
9. Freelance Writer
If you enjoy writing and are looking for ways to make money from home, you can become a content writer. You may have noticed that there are millions of websites out there with beaucoup articles.
It’s difficult for a single website owner to generate all that content themselves. So they often hire content writers to help them out.
If you’re an expert in a particular field (or don’t mind doing a little research), then you should have no trouble making money on the side as a freelance content writer!

10. Take Online Surveys to Make Fast Money
When I was first looking into side hustles for myself, online surveys were one of the first things that came up.
While you’re not going to get rich doing surveys, you can make money by sharing. Just sign up, submit your ideas and get paid!
Here are some of the most popular survey sites:
- Swagbucks: With Swagbucks, you can not only take surveys, but you’ll shop online, watch videos, play games, and earn some extra money while doing it! Pretty cool. Sign up here to make money with Swagbucks.
- American Consumer Opinion: This site is one of my favorites and the one we’ve done the most surveys on. With American Consumer Opinion, you’ll get surveys in your inbox, so you don’t have to go searching for them. You’ll also be able to evaluate products and test new advertising. Try it out by
signing up here.
- InboxDollars: With this one, you’ll get paid to take surveys, watch videos, play games, read emails, and get cash back for online shopping. But better than that, you’ll get $5 just for signing up!
- Survey Junkie: Another popular survey website that allows you to share your opinion and influence the marketplace. Sign up for Survey Junkie!
- Pinecone Research: This is a research company run by Nielsen. It only sends you surveys that you are pre-qualified for. This is a massive plus in my book! You may also get to test products that haven’t been released in the market yet. Give it a shot and sign up through our link here.

11. Sell your things on Decluttr
We’ve all got junk that we don’t need taking up our valuable living space. Just visit that part of your house where you’ve stashed everything and tell me what you see.
Exactly! Cobweb covered boxes. And what does it smell like? No…not 20-year-old dust. Well, yes…but no…
It smells like money!
If you haven’t already, create yourself a Decluttr account and get paid for your junk. After all, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!
Is there something you know that you don’t mind sharing with others? Some talent, or expertise?
If the answer is yes (which I suspect it is 😉), you can sign up with Skillshare, create a class, and get paid for ideas.
If you haven’t heard of Skillshare, it’s an online community with thousands of classes on anything you want to learn. It’s definitely worth checking out!
13. Earn money with Ebates (they recently changed their name to Rakuten)
By signing up with Rakuten, you’ll be able to earn a little money when you do your online shopping.
The way it works is that stores pay Rakuten to drive customers to their shopping sites. But instead of hoarding 100% of their commission for themselves Rakuten shares a piece of the pie with you!
Sign up today and get paid for making purchases you were already going to make.
It’s a win-win-win!
14. Earn money with Ibotta
A dollar saved is a dollar earned.
And if you can lower your grocery expenses that’s basically money in the bank. Sign up with Ibotta and get virtual coupons to help you save your hard-earned cash.
No clipping the Sunday paper. No handing a stack of coupons to the cashier. Just scan your receipts on your phone and voila! Money saved, money earned.

15. Sell your old gift cards
Most people have got a partially used gift card or two lying around somewhere. And usually, those gift cards are for a specific chain of stores that you only visit once every blue moon.
If that’s the case then you’re probably not going to use them, so why not turn it into cash?
You can with CardCash. Go get that money!
16. TaskRabbit
TaskRabbit is a market place that brings together people who need things done with people who can do them. There are all kinds of tasks out there, from picking up dry cleaning, making deliveries, waiting for deliveries, doing yard work, etc.
If you’re up for it, sign up for TaskRabbit and make some money!
FYI: After signing up, you’ll have to pay a $20 registration fee and have to attend an orientation before you can start accepting tasks.
17. Get free gift cards by using Bing (with Microsoft Rewards)
Microsoft really wants you to use its search engine, Bing. So, much in fact that they’ll actually pay you in Amazon gift cards to use it.
Sign up with Microsoft Rewards, and you’ll earn gift cards (and other rewards) for searching Bing and much more.
18. Deliver food that others want to eat Doordash
19. Delivering groceries Instacart
Delivery services are all the rage nowadays, huh? Well, Instacart is a grocery delivery service that may be in your area.
You can work shifts for them to make money on the side.
20. Sell your old books
Have you ever asked yourself “what can I sell to make quick money?” If so, why don’t you try selling your books?
If you’re like most people, you have a few (dozen) books just lying around your home. Most of them you probably haven’t read since college!
Well, with apps like Decluttr or eBay you can make money with those old books. Cha-ching!
21. Sell photos to Shutterstock
Another brilliant idea to make money is selling your photos to Shutterstock.
If you’re not a photographer…well, why not learn a bit about photography on Skillshare first?
Armed with Skillshare’s courses and your amazing smartphone camera, you can take some great photos! Then signup with Shutterstock and get paid for your stock photos.
Bloggers everywhere will thank you!

Several banks offer sign up bonuses when you open an account. Usually, you’ll have to sign up for direct deposit with their bank and keep the account open for a few months.

26. Negotiate for a raise
I know, I know…you’re looking for genius ideas to make money, not be told to ask for a raise.

After that, go see your boss and get that money!
27. Use Acorns to invest your change
Spending your time making money is fine and dandy. But what’s better is when your money is making money for you. Now that’s boss.
If you’re not investing, then your money isn’t working for you. Get started with Acorns and invest your pocket change. While this isn’t going to turn you into Warren Buffet, you’ll at least be in the game.
As a bonus, when you sign up with Acorns, you’ll get $5 after creating your first investment.
28. Become a Notary Public
If you’re looking for easy things to do to make extra money, why not become a Notrary?
A Notary is an official appointed by the government.
They check that signers of important documents are really who they say they are. They check whether the signers are aware of what they’re signing and if they’re signing under duress.

Cut your phone expenses by an unseemly amount by switching to Mint Mobile.
If you’re worried about your data usage, don’t be. The 3GB plan is their lowest data plan, and I don’t even use a third of that in a month! I mean, there’s no need for unlimited data when there’s literally free WiFi on every street corner!

Perhaps you’ve got jewelry laying around that you’re never going to wear. Why not lighten your load and sell it for cash?

34. Start a yard sale
Yard sales are as American as apple pie. And if you’re looking for quick money making ideas, it can quickly put a few hundred dollars in your pocket.
On the downside, your potential client base is much more limited than with online options such as eBay.
On the upside, however, you’ll probably make a bunch of sales in a single day, AND you get to haggle the price instead of just accepting the highest bid.
35. Test websites with UserTestin

Easy peasy.

Sign up with Get Around and rent your car out to earn yourself a few extra bucks.
44. Rent objects you own with Rentah
If you’re like most people, you have a bunch of tools and equipment lying around cluttering up your garage. And most of us don’t use those tools very often, so they’re just taking up space.
Why not monetize them? Use Rentah to rent out those idle tools and make money on the side!
45. Spot hero to rent out your parking space
This one isn’t for everyone. But if you have a parking space that you can rent out should consider signing up for Spot Hero.

49. Dolly rent out your truck to help people move
If you’ve got a truck, you’re probably the first person your friends call when they need to move a load, right?

You’ve got some great ideas here. Clearly some have a much quicker turn around than others. Having such a long list is awesome as it helps people find the perfect mix. For example, I am building my blog but it’s certainly not bringing in a bunch of money yet, so I’m doing other work to bring in that money. As my blog grows, I’ll be able to cut back on the amount of other work I’m taking on.
