Recommendations

Hey guys! If you’re looking for resources to help you earn and save more money then you’re in the right place! We created this  recommendations page to show you which products and services we’ve enjoyed and have found the most valuable.

For full disclosure, there are affiliate links below and we do receive a small commission if you choose to try the product through our links (at no extra cost to you, of course!) While we do receive a commission, we only recommend those products that we’ve used and have found to be valuable to us personally.

Ebates is a website/app that puts money in your pocket. Just buy the items you love from the stores you normally visit and get CASH BACK! What could be better?

How does it work? Well, Ebates gets a commission for getting customers to shop at different stores. And they share the commission they receive with you as an incentive to keep using their website.

$5 Meal Plan is amazing! Have you ever come home dog tired after a hard day at work and wondered to yourself, “What am I going to eat?” It’s times like these we’re prone to order out or get fast food. Do that enough and say goodbye to your budget!

This is why I like $5 meal plan. They send you the recipes which eliminate, the frustration of trying to tiredly figure out what you’re going to eat.

$5 Meal Plan is definitely worth it for those of you who spend too much time, energy, and money on your meals.

It’s cool too because Ibotta is geared towards in-store purchases, it really allows you to get some serious cash back, and you don’t have to stand in the checkout line while the cashier scans 50 coupons.

Good-bye Sunday newspaper and hello Ibotta!

Whether you need to improve your credit, or just maintain it — Credit Sesame is an amazing tool to help you do it!

The thing we love most about Credit Sesame is that it tells you the different areas that make up your credit score. And it actually gives you a grade on your performance in each of those areas. So you know what to do and what to avoid in order to improve your credit!

If you’re ready to get your credit on the right track then sign up for this free app today!

This is another fantastic tool to help you keep a close eye on your credit.

Credit Karma provides your score and credit report information just like Credit Sesame, but the information it provides is a bit different. I’ve found it useful to use both apps.

Sign up for Credit Karma here    and track your credit anytime, anywhere for free!

Personal Capital comes in two flavors. Free and Paid. The paid version is geared towards high net worth individuals who are looking for help with Wealth Management.

But whatever. It’s the free version that most of us will be interested in. And I must admit, this is one of my new favorite apps. Personal Capital basically puts all of your bank accounts in one place, analyzes your expenses, and shows you your cash flows. It also has a few investing tools for those of you with a retirement account.

It’s a pretty cool budgeting tool definitely worth checking out. Sign up here.

Blogging

Blogging? Why are we talking about blogging resources on a personal finance site?

Well…because we understand that many readers of this site may be thinking of starting their own blog. If this is you we want to share the resources we used to get our blog up and running.

If you’re interested in starting your own blog then first things first – you need hosting! We started this blog with no clue as to what we were doing but Bluehost made it super easy.

You can get hosting and a domain all in one place and installing WordPress was as easy a clicking our mouse.

We recommend Bluehost to anyone who’s thinking about starting a blog because it’s cheap and super easy.

ConvertKit is an e-mail marketing platform that makes it SO easy to send automated emails to your subscribers. Not only that, but you can create forms, landing pages, and review analytics. We highly recommend ConvertKit to any current or future bloggers. After all, your email list will be your greatest asset.

We highly recommend Elegant Themes for anyone looking to customize their blog.

But what’s a theme anyway? A theme is basically the design of your website. Which, obviously, is uber important.

WordPress does come with some pre-installed free themes, but if you want to distinguish your site from all the others, and make it look exactly how you want without spending ten thousand hours trying to do it then you have to buy a theme.

Each theme has different capabilities, but the great thing about Elegant Themes is that when you buy a subscription you get access to all 87 of their themes. So if one doesn’t feel right for you then you can switch to another one over and over.

Michelle over at Making Sense of Cents is another extremely successful blogger that makes an insane amount of money every month. And much of it comes from affiliate marketing.

In her affiliate marketing course (which we enrolled in and love!) she goes in-depth through every aspect of affiliate marketing and teaches you tips and tricks for succeeding with it.

If you want to know how affiliate marketing is done right, then don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn from one of the best there is! Check it out!
